TessCon recently completed an emergency commercial building repair in Yardley Wood, Birmingham, ensuring structural integrity and weatherproofing for a new café development.
The project required the installation of concrete lintels within a load-bearing wall to accommodate essential ducting for the café’s ventilation system.
Our team worked swiftly to reinforce the opening, maintaining structural strength and compliance with safety standards.
On the roof, new upstands were constructed to support duct penetrations, providing a durable and watertight seal.
The upstands were then professionally felted, fitted with lead flashing, and the adjoining wall was re-rendered for a clean, weather-resistant finish.
Despite the urgency of the work, the project was completed in just two days, minimising disruption and allowing the café’s fit-out to continue on schedule.
This job highlights TessCon’s ability to respond quickly to urgent commercial maintenance and structural repair projects, delivering reliable solutions that combine safety, quality, and efficiency.
